Biography

A born and raised Californian, David H. Collier had the fortune to grow up surrounded by the beauty that California holds. Following a career in music, he attended the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara where photography became the center-point of his life, and he was soon winning awards for his dedication; accumulating nine by his third and final year. At 23, he had his first solo exhibition at the Open Shutter Gallery in Durango, Colorado, followed by a very successful venue at the Brooks Institute Montecito campus. Numerous magazines and organizations have recognized David Collier with articles in Popular Photography, Natures Best, Time Magazine, National Geographic Traveler, and the covers of Via Magazine as well as awards from the United Nations, Canon, Fuji, and Teva. He has produced imagery for Felt Bicycles, Freshpoint Produce, Syncon Homes, Workbook Stock, and many others. He has traveled extensively through Europe and China, and has begun exploring South America. His work can be found on the walls of homes and businesses around the world, including the Worlds Exposition in Aichi, Japan. Today, David is creating Travel, Landscape, Stock and Advertising images with an incredible passion that could only be inspired by his love of the subject itself.
